Things to Do in Lake Geneva in Winter

When people think of Lake Geneva, they think of a summer retreat where they can chill by the water, taking in the summer breeze and Vitamin D. However, the winter months bring their own sort of charm to the Lake Geneva experience.

Sure, you won’t want to hop in the water for a swim, but you’ll be able to find a bunch of things to do in the area that will make you feel cozy, relaxed, and entertained. Here are some of the best attractions you can do during the cold season!

Where are the ice castles?

The ice castles lie on the west side of Lake Como, super close to the French Country Inn!

By far one of the most unique attractions in the frigid months, the Ice Castles draw guests from all over Wisconsin because of their beauty, craftsmanship, and Christmas-y activities that will make your heart warm up.

Not only will you adore the crystallized sculptures adorning the frozen palace, but you’ll also have the chance to snuggle up to your loved one in a horse and buggy ride, hide in the caves, and slide down the ice yourself. It’s a great way to spend a special evening with your significant other.

Winterfest

The best Lake Geneva festival takes place every year in the middle of the snowy season. In fact, most of our guests who come in the winter typically aim to visit this week. While you ski, snowboard, and snowshoe as normal, you’ll also be able to see some of the more unique experiences only available when it’s cold outside.

Tour downtown Lake Geneva and see ice-carved sculptures, or walk to the park and view the impressive snow sculptures on display. You can even vote on your favorite! It’s one of the best times to visit our beautiful city.
